In Deborah Harkness’ All Souls Trilogy, scent is a massive part of vampire lore and creature biology. As a big fan of the books I always found the scent descriptions of the characters very evocative and wondered what they might smell like as a soap. So for this Autumn Collection I have taken 4 of the main characters and using the prose from the books created essential oils blends inspired by Deborahs writing.

‘Diana’ - “you smell of willow sap. And chamomile thats been crushed underfoot…theres honeysuckle and fallen oak leaves too..” - Matthew to Diana in A Discovery of Witches.

Made with raw honey and essential oils of chamomile, clary sage, bergamot, frankincense, vetivert & jasmine.

‘Matthew’ -”the scent of clove and cinnamon and something that reminded me of incense filled the air’ - from A Discovery of Witches

Made with charcoal powder and essential oils of lemon, sweet orange, patchouli, cinnamon, bergamot, myrrh & clove

‘Ysabeau’ - “she smelled of white roses, jasmine and cold granite” - from A Discovery of Witches

Made with kaolin clays and essential oils of rose absolute, bergamot & patchouli

‘Phillippe’- “crisp mountain air, aged oak and ancient resin” - from Shadow of Night

Made with kaolin clay & cocoa powder and essential oils of sweet orange, juniper, cedarwood, patchouli & myrrh
