Hyperiglow is a homegrown St John's Wort infused oil from The Elder Field. You can learn more about what I’m doing in The Elder Field on my Instagram page @The.Elder.Field24 This is a limited product as I only harvest St. Johns Wort once a year, in June. This oil is made with last years harvest.

One of the most well-known topical uses for St John's Wort is to sooth nerve pain. It's used for conditions like shingles, sciatica, neuralgia, and other nerve related conditions.

I used it for massaging my Dad's legs when he was suffering with nerve pain from his MND. -

It's anti inflammatory properties can help reduce pain and discomfort in muscles, joints, and connective tissue.

Ingredients - Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Hypericum Perforatum (St Johns Wort) Extract 100g bottle with pipette

Traditional Uses of St. John's Wort Infused Oil

The use of Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort) as an herbal remedy dates back to ancient Greece. Traditionally, the infused oil has been used extensively for:

  • Wound Healing: Applied to cuts, abrasions, minor burns, and bruises. Ancient Greeks like Hippocrates recommended it for wound healing.

  • Nerve Damage and Pain: Specifically used for injuries involving nerve damage, sciatica, neuralgia, and conditions causing shooting or burning pain.

  • Muscle and Joint Pain: Applied to alleviate aches, stiffness, rheumatism, and lumbago.

  • Skin Irritations: Soothing various skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, and general inflammation.

  • Protection (Folklore): In some traditions, the plant was collected for protection against evil spirits and demons, partly due to its "sun-like" appearance and its blooming around St. John's Day, 24th June.
